A 3D Bridge Printed by the Robot!

MX3D is a new technology and research company estabilished by two men: Laarman and Tim Geurtjens. Their plan is to use robots to built a 3D bridge and especially print it from the steel. The first bridge should be printed over the canal in Amsterdam sometime in 2017.

According to the authors, the principle of the printing is simple: We use the robots, that are typical in industry for manufacturing or manipulating. We have combined thoser tobos with a welding technology and our special hardware and software. Unlike the other 3D printers, our system can move therefore an object of a great dimensions might be printed.
